WORCESTER Nomads preserved their three-point lead over Colwall at the top of Worcestershire Cricket League Division One as both sides won.

Nomads triumphed by six wickets against Bewdley, who upset Colwall the previous week but were bowled out for 132 this time.

Colwall won by 43 runs at bottom side Oldswinford, who desperately need a victory to save their season and escape the drop.

Stourport held on to third place, 29 points adrift of Colwall, by beating Cookley despite 83 scored by the visitors’ Jamen Rudd.

Worcester slipped up at home to Belbroughton, being all out for 169 in under 29 overs despite Fabian Allen making 88.

Hagley travelled to Droitwich but the 10th-placed side won for the second week in a row to further compress the table below the top three.

Pedmore eased their position slightly as they racked up 317-9 to win at Burghill.

In Division Two, leaders Redditch returned to winning ways at home to Lye despite Shakeel Nawaz scoring a second successive century for his side, making 127 out of Lye’s 211 all out.

Meanwhile, Chaddesley Corbett and Coombs Wood maintained their challenges.

Chaddesley beat Feckenham by one wicket thanks to Bilal Hassan’s 80 and Wood had Dave Meehan’s 94 not out to thank for their narrow two-wicket victory over Enville.

Worcester Dominies beat Evesham to stay fifth with Andy Wilks taking 6-34.

Alvechurch and Hopwood sank deeper into the mire after they lost a must-win game at home to Bromyard, who have now got a 40-point cushion above their hosts in 11th place.

Bredon boosted their own chances of survival with a 60-run win at home to Wormelow and have now moved joint ninth with their opponents.

In Division Three, Harborne won at home to Malvern and now have a 12-point lead over Old Vigornians, who beat Kempsey despite Sam O’Neill’s 84, after Bartestree lost at Avoncroft.

Avoncroft’s hero was David James, who took 4-56 in the visitors’ innings of 283-9 which included Ben Chaplin’s 92.

James was again on hand to make 113 and steer his side to a last-over, three-wicket win.

Netherton beat Barnards Green to go up to third, leapfrogging Bartestree and Kempsey.

Rushwick squeezed home by one wicket with an over to spare at home to Cleobury Mortimer and Himbleton beat Ross-on-Wye.

Division Four leaders Martley regained the lead by winning at home to Bromsgrove, while Five Ways Old Edwardians tripped up at Kidderminster and now trail the leaders by 12 points.

Astwood Bank stay in third position despite losing to 10th-placed Halesowen and Himley made the day’s top score with 410-5 before dismissing Oldswinford for 88 to record a 322-run margin. For Himley, Matthew Bowen scored 109.

Hanley Castle and Upton eased their relegation concerns by winning at home to Claverley and Stourport beat struggling Alveley.

Division Five leaders Tenbury retained their lead by winning at home to second-placed Old Elizabethans.

Hallow went back into second with a win over Barnt Green and West Malvern also jumped in front of OEs by winning at Redditch.

Stourbridge won at Old Hill and Droitwich beat Enville.
