PERSHORE and Astwood Bank both lost in their top-of-the-table Birmingham and District Cricket League Division Three clashes.

Leaders Fordhouses were 56-run victors over Bank, who dropped to fourth place, and Streetly moved up into joint second with Pershore after beating them by seven wickets.

Last week’s century maker Alex McChristie top scored for Fordhouses with 63 in a total of 185 with Dan Taylor picking up 5-50 for the Worcestershire side.

At 61-2, Bank were well in the game but the introduction of Kashif Hussein (4-24) began their downfall to 129 all out.

Pershore’s promotion hopes were rocked by Streetly, who dismissed the season’s newcomers for 180 after opening batsman Joe Taylor scored 45.

The main damage was done by Audy Alexander (4-15) and Sam Bates (4-45) before an unbeaten 78 from 62 balls by Neil Curtis, 47 from Imran Qadir and 37 not out from Craig Moore saw Streetly go level with Pershore in the table.

Eastnor fell into the bottom four after they crashed to a 150-run defeat to Brewood after conceding 342-7 with Dewald Joubert belting 128 from 92 balls, including nine fours and 10 sixes.

Opener Jabran Khalid was last man out for 88 as Eastnor finished well short on 192 with Brewood’s Jamie Lunn taking 4-69.
