Worcester beat Broadway in National Top Club clash
WORCESTER Bowls Club reached the National Top Club area fourth round after winning 5-0 at Broadway.
After runaway victories in the two and four-wood singles by Arthur Jackson and Andy Walters respectively, victory was sealed when Simon Jones and Rob Stanley won by 16 shots 27-11.
With both the triples and fours leading, the match was concluded on the 16th ends.
Jackson beat P Smith 18-2 and Walters saw off R Ashby 21-9. The triple of J Cook, R Dawson and M Stones led 21-9 and J Lewis, A Cook, D Hemming and R McCaughtrie were 14-13 ahead.
Worcester suffered a defeat when visitors Stourport won an encounter by 24 shots 103-79 at Wood Terrace.
