THERE was a healthy turnout of 18 Black Pear Joggers’ runners at Wyre Forest half-marathon.

The undulating off-road course was on forest paths and tracks.

Organised by Kidderminster’s Amazing Feet Running Club, the annual event was limited to 350 entries.

Matt Davis was Joggers’ first man home in ninth overall and third in his senior male category in one hour 32 minutes 30 seconds.

Mick Ward was first in his men’s over 50s age category and 16th overall in 1.35.22.

Ward completed the 936-mile John O’Groats to Land’s End challenge in June and only the weekend before won his age category at the new Hanbury Hall Parkrun.

Joggers’ club secretary and race director Claire Shacklock took 15 minutes off her time from last year, clocking 2.09.24 for 169th place.

Veteran ladies Gay Grove and Liz Stacey both came second in their respective age categories of 60 and 65-plus in 2.42.31 and 2.53.21.
