WORCESTER’S 15-year-old motorcycle ace T Fox Moreton battled through a dramatic British Superbikes fixture at Norfolk’s Snetterton circuit.

In the KTM British Junior Cup, Moreton rode his KTM 390cc bike to sixth place in qualifying, displaying the form that has made him a regular on the podium this season.

But in his first race he crashed out and was injured after touching wheels with another rider.

“The other rider went out wide then cut in tight right in front of me,” said Moreton, who is in his first year in the major series.

“My front wheel touched his back wheel and there was nothing I could do.

“My arm just hurts, it’s just swollen.

“There’s nothing broken. It’s hard to get down the gears.

“My helmet was written off and the bike’s all scuffed up – that’ll take money and time to sort out.”

Despite being obliged to wear a sling off the bike, Moreton battled through his second race heat to earn third place.

He remains second in the championship standings on 165 points.

Leader Aaron Wright enjoyed more success to increase his advantage to 225.

Moreton, who has been racing since 2007, added: “Me being taken out helped Aaron.

“In every race, I’m edging closer to my limits. I’ve just got to stay consistent and stay on the bike to close the gap.”

He next races at Kent’s Brands Hatch circuit on August 5 until 7.
