MEMBERS of Hallow’s Hall Family Taekwondo were tested for their various black belts. 

Assistant instructor Nicholas Slane achieved his new rank of second degree after four years of hard work and determination. 

Jon Walsh, who started training at the age of 40, and 10-year-old Marcus Ashfield, now the club’s youngest black belt, passed their first degree ranks.

Chief instructor Luke Hall also tested for his sixth degree black belt under Clive Harrison after 26 years of martial arts training.

At 30, Hall is one of the youngest senior grades in the country and he is now on the road to attaining a master grade. 

During the grading, they demonstrated taekwondo skills and knowledge, including self-defence, sparring and line work.

The club have a group at Hallow Village Hall, Main Road.
