WORCESTERSHIRE Cricket League Division Two leaders Redditch were pegged back at Evesham.

The Vale side had Shafqat Zaman’s 90 to thank for overhauling the top team by two wickets.

The distant chasing pack of Chaddesley Corbett, Coombs Wood, Feckenham and Worcester Dominies all won and look capable of mounting a challenge.

Chaddesley comfortably won at Enville, Coombs Wood triumphed despite Shakeel Nawaz making 121 out of Lye’s 230 all out, Feckenham eased past Bredon and Dominies had a crushing victory at Bromyard.

For Dominies, Steve Miles made a remarkable 140 not out in just 77 balls to help his side score the 277 needed for victory in just over half the overs available.

Bromyard’s Edd Oliver made an unbeaten 99 for his side, who remain 11th.

Basement boys Alvechurch and Hopwood were soundly beaten by Wormelow, who eased their own problems in the process.

In Division Three, the top five all won again with Harborne triumphing at Himbleton to stay in front of Bartestree by 10 points after the latter beat Rushwick by six wickets.

Old Vigornians sneaked a one-wicket win at Cleobury Mortimer and Kempsey beat Ross-on-Wye thanks to an all-round performance from skipper Zak O’Neill, who took five wickets and scored 80 not out.

Netherton beat Malvern and Barnards Green eased their relegation concerns by recording an eight-wicket success over Avoncroft thanks to Kev Golder’s 99.

Previous Division Four leaders Martley were unfortunate in being rained off at Halesowen.

Five Ways Old Edwardians climbed two points in front after beating Hanley Castle and Upton at home easily. 

Astwood Bank won at Alveley, despite Will Rodenhurst’s 112 not out for the home side,and closed up to trail Martley by just six points.

Bromsgrove beat basement side Oldswinford to remain in fourth spot and Himley’s Dominic Taylor scored 107 out of his side’s 166-3 as they crushed Kidderminster.

Stourport leapfrogged Claverley with a six-wicket win to go sixth.

Division Five leaders Tenbury stretched their lead by winning at home to Hallow with Aaron Morris scoring 91.

Old Elizabethans moved into second place by defeating Stourbridge thanks to 6-21 from Richard Gardiner.

West Malvern beat Droitwich and Barnt Green amassed 300 against Enville, which proved to be too many for the league’s remaining winless outfit.
