LADY Captain’s Day at Worcester Golf and Country Club was graced by sunny conditions.

Fifteen teams took part in a four-ball alliance at Boughton Park and the winners were Helen Olds, Mary Woods, Carole Evans and Lesley Nand-Lal with a score of 82 points.

Sarah Collins hit the longest drive and the Fairmitre Bowl was presented to the lady nearest the pin on the 13th, Barbara Faulkes.

Meanwhile, Lee Richardson was crowned new holder of the Smith Cup at the Worcester club.

The trophy was awarded to the best gross score in the July medal and scratch golfer Richardson succeeded with 71.

The best nett score was by Ashley Watkins, who romped home with 84 gross 17 handicap 67 nett to head Division Three.

Paul Cutley was runner-up on 94-21-73 and Peter Webster third with 90-16-74.

Phil McDonell topped Division Two with 85-15-70 ahead of Darren Wilkins on 89-14-75 and Graham Smith on 85-12-73.

Richard Plews won Division One on 71-3-68 with junior member Aaron Bryan second on 77-8-69 and Edward Pickering third on 76-6-70.
