WORCESTER Nomads returned to winning ways with a comfortable six-wicket victory over Stourbridge in Crusader Worcestershire League Division One.

Stourbridge folded for 170 as Ben Schiffmann picked up three wickets and Geoff Taylor took an excellent 6-39.

Nomads lost the toss but recovered as captain Dannie Rees completed three stumpings off Taylor's off-spin.

In reply, Nomads lost Darren Lakin and Simon Harris quickly but veteran Malcolm Jones weighed in with a valuable 36 runs.

Rees added a stylish 58 not out and Taylor 21no to see their side home with eight overs left.

Nomads Seconds earned a winning draw at Belbroughton to keep up their challenge at the top of the table.

After losing an important toss, Nomads batted and made steady progress on a difficult wicket.

Derek Austin (42), Sam Roberts (32) and Roger Dixon (42) all grafted well to manage 174-7 off 50 overs.

Nomads' bowlers performed excellently as Ben Chatfield (3-45) and Matt Humphreys (1-38) bowled tightly.

Belbroughton's 150-6 earned Nomads the winning draw.

The thirds continue to lead the way in Division Eight after a straightforward victory over Astwood Bank.

On a poor-looking wicket, Nomads invited the home side to bat and their hosts struggled to put meaningful runs on the board.

John Goodreds showed the value of line and length with a superb return of 6-17 from his 11 overs.

Anton Madzarevic (2-31) and John Fidoe (1-12) were the other wicket-takers as Astwood were dismissed for 124.

The pitch was just as unhelpful for Nomads with pace and height often being a matter of guesswork.

Chris Bland (35), Matts (27) and David Pearson (25) led the reply and were always well in control of the run-rate.

Claytor fell for 17 as Astwood picked up late wickets before Nomads completed victory by six wickets.

Nomads Academy defeated Barnards Green by eight wickets in the Fearnley Factory Shop Worcestershire Sunday Club League. The Worcester side won the toss and asked Green to bat first.

Despite Simon Ball (57), Nick Rogers (24) and Sam Bradley (24), the Green could not master Nomads' bowlers in their 174-8 off 40 overs.

Blake Raymond, Patrick O'Driscoll, Jac Dimond and Ben Warren all took a wicket each, while Taylor and Alex Williams took two each.

Nomads' openers Paul Gardner (59) and Josh Stafford (46) put on 98 for the first wicket in 14 overs.

Taylor (30no) and Raymond (26no) scored the winning runs with 12 overs remaining.
