WORCESTERSHIRE seconds launch their T20 and Championship programme over four days against Leicestershire.
Coach Kevin Sharp’s side play two T20 matches tomorrow at Kibworth and a three-day Championship match from Wednesday until Friday at Oakham School.
The County enjoyed a useful T20 campaign in 2015, finishing third in their group and just missing out on a semi-final spot.
Sharp said: “We did pretty well in the T20 last year and are looking forward to the two games in a day.
“We just failed to qualify for finals day, so hopefully we can repeat some of those performances.
“We’ve got a good philosophy on T20 cricket throughout the club. The first team has done well these last few years and got to two successive quarter-finals.
“We’ve got a strong squad of players who have performed well in this format.”
The Second XI Trophy match at Durham was abandoned, as was a 40-over friendly.
But the County got in valuable practice against Somerset at Taunton Vale and Sussex at Kidderminster.
Sharp said: “It has been a bit hit-and-miss with the weather. Generally, we’ve played some good, solid cricket.
"We had a poor batting performance at Kidderminster when the game looked as if it was going to peter out into a tame draw.”
