BROMSGROVE are one of the first sides to benefit from the government's £9.4million community club development programme.

The England and Wales Cricket Board awarded the town club £37,500 for a four-bay synthetic practice area.

Bromsgrove were recognised because of the strength of their junior cricket development programme.

Club secretary Paul Husbands said: "We have 120 junior members and we are now able to offer a structured coaching programme and, of course, the nets are available to all age groups."
