WORCESTER claimed their first Crusader Worcestershire League Division One win of the season at home to Eastnor.

The city side triumphed by five wickets on a good Norton wicket after making fine progress early on.

Liam Weston and Mike Potter took early wickets before Adeel and Atiq put a good partnership on only for Dan McKay to remove them both.

The introduction of off-spinner Liam Kelleher had Eastnor in further trouble as he claimed four wickets.

With Eastnor on 140-9, veteran Jim Sandford scored 15 not out and Keith Fortey 10 to reach 171 off 41 overs.

Opening batsmen Simon Keyte (23) and Adam Bolton got Worcester off to a great start, making 45 runs.

McKay then joined Bolton (50) for a patient 75-run partnership. The home team lost three more wickets but a stylish 47 not out from McKay got them home in the 36th over.

Meanwhile, Old Vigornians secured their first maximum-points victory of the season at New Road in Division Three.

Stourport decided to bat and made a respectable 230-7 from 50 overs.

Asmat Riaz took 3-31, while Will Hardy and Dan Harris each picked up two wickets.

James Parry, with a career-best of 131 not out, and Tom Weston took OVs to a 10-wicket win with seven overs left.

The pair shared a 234-run opening stand and Weston (85no) hit his highest score for the club, despite starving himself in order to make the weight as a jockey at Uttoxeter the next day.
