DROITWICH golfer John Bickerton faces a battle to make the cut after he slumped to an opening round of 76 in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
Bickerton fired five birdies in the opening 12 holes but finished with sixes at both the 17th and 18th, leaving him at four-over-par ahead of today's second round.
Englishmen Paul Broad-hurst and Justin Rose set the early pace at the Surrey venue as they both carded six-under-par 66s to lead Simon Khan, Francesco Molinari and Mar-cus Fraser by a shot.
