WORCESTERSHIRE opening batsman Stephen Moore will be writing occasional articles on cricket in the Worcester News during the current season. Here he kicks off with his thoughts on how the New Road team's link to Eighties hit TV show The A-Team is not just about playing the theme tune when the Royals run out at the start of one-day matches.

In 2007, a crack team of cricketers were subjected to three defeats in a row.

These men promptly recollected themselves and alighted upon the path of resurgence.

Today, they survive as cricketers of fortune. If you have faith, and believe in them, then maybe the A-Team ethos will prove its worth in the end.

For those ardent fans of the Worcestershire Royals, it should be common knowledge that, during home one-day games, we walk out onto the hallowed turf of New Road to the theme tune from the A-Team.

Sometimes these musical digressions can be perceived as simple musings by the spectator, but it is also well versed in the Midlands that the Royals have worked hard on setting up an environment based upon the team and not the individual.

It could therefore be suggested that this tune is indicative of the ethos of the Worcester changing room.

The first month has been a tough one for us. First Division cricket seems to be trying to sort the boys from the men already.

Sixty-four days of Championship cricket are scheduled to be played this season, and in the words of BA Baracus, you would be a "crazy fool" to believe that the first 12 days will decide the outcome.

This is where the team becomes so important.

Hannibal, like his Carthaginian namesake, loved the adrenalin of action and planned meticulously. He also had unyielding faith in his team.

There is still a great sense of togetherness in the changing room, and although it is inevitable that spirits take a hit after a month like ours, the individuals are working harder than ever to prepare themselves to best support the team.

We have struggled to get an injury-free bowling squad together, but the batsmen are fit with the younger players pressing for first team spots.

Dejection, apathy, and complacency are not things that can be said about the A-Team and I can categorically state that, as professionals, we are trying our hardest to find winning momentum.

The fuel is there, now we just need to find our individual spark to make it all come together.
