TOM Fell has been cleared to play grade cricket in Australia for the rest of the winter after the results of a check-up following surgery for testicular cancer proved positive.
The Worcestershire batsman underwent further tests when he saw a specialist for a monthly check and received encouraging news.
It means Fell has been given the green light to fly out to Perth today to play for Mount Lawley.
The 22-year-old has opted for regular monitoring and checks, which will continue Down Under, of his condition rather than undergoing two spells of chemotherapy.
Fell said: “The results were all fine so please let everyone know who’s been asking and I thank them for their support.
“I shall be playing for Mount Lawley, the team I had originally intended to play for a couple of months ago.
“I am looking forward to playing some cricket again and it’s great news I can go away until the end of February.
“I shall have the monthly check-ups in Australia like the one I had last week.”
Fell was the County's leading run-scorer in the County Championship in 2015.
