THE future of Worcester Warriors’ rumoured target Manu Tuilagi remains unclear after it was revealed he has not signed a new deal with Leicester.

Various media sources claimed the 24-year-old England and British Lions centre had put pen to paper on a new three-year contract at Welford Road.

“I am fed up with the speculation around all our players,” said Leicester’s director of rugby Richard Cockerill.

“We have put our best foot forward with Manu. We are not in the realms of paying some of the numbers that are alleged to have been offered because we have a number of quality players we also want to keep.

“Manu has come through our system. We’ve done a lot for him and he’s done a lot for us because he’s played well and we want him to stay so we are doing everything we can do.

“But there comes a limit and we are at that limit so we will carrying on doing what we do.”

Warriors are rumoured to be putting together a £1.6million package for Tuilagi.

It has been claimed Tuilagi would be paid £750,000 next term if he comes to Worcester and £450,000 in each of the next two campaigns.

But last month Ryan said there was no truth in speculation linking Tuilagi with a move Sixways.

Tuilagi has just returned to training after a long-term groin injury and is out of contract at Tigers at the end of the season.

Coventry-based Wasps, Championship outfit Bristol and several French clubs are also believed to be interested in signing Tuilagi.
