JOINT-manager Matt Gardiner has urged his players to 'show no fear' as Worcester City aim to break Tamworth's unbeaten record at the Lamb Ground on Saturday (3pm).

Tamworth are one of only two teams who have not lost a home game in National League North and they will be confident of extending that run after trouncing Corby Town 6-2 in the FA Trophy last weekend.

Worcester City have also failed to triumph on Tamworth's turf since September 2007 - partly due to the fact the sides had spells in different divisions - and suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Lambs at Aggborough earlier this season.

However, having won their last three games, including a 2-0 victory over Brackley Town last Saturday, Gardiner believes there is enough confidence in the squad to put that sorry record to bed.

"It is a tough place to go and Tamworth are a good side," he said.

"They are unbeaten at the moment as they haven't lost since the start of October, and I am sure they will be looking to extend that run.

"But we have to go there and show no fear. We are on a little bit of a run ourselves, so it will come down to who is the best team on the day.

"Worcester haven't won there (at Tamworth) in eight years, so if we can go and change that then we will be very happy."

Gardiner revealed Tristan Dunkley was a doubt for this weekend's clash after missing training on Thursday night due to a tight hamstring.

But City have received a double boost as Tom Sharpe is back available after serving a one match ban following his red card against Stalybridge Celtic last month while Connor Gater has recovered from an ankle injury.

The midfielder has not featured since hobbling off against Sheffield United, but Gardiner said he had come through two training sessions and was fit to face Andy Morrell's men.

"We have definitely got options for Saturday," Gardiner added.

"We have got the balance right in the squad at the moment and when you're winning the confidence shows.

"From a supporters point of view they will see things differently, but from a coaching point of view the players don't become bad players overnight. It is just circumstances or a set of events that hampers what you do.

"But obviously we are in a position now where if we can keep everyone fit and happy then it is a very strong squad and I am sure it will get the right results."
