TWO Worcester City Amateur Boxing Club fighters enjoyed an England talent development workshop in Liverpool.

After having their applications accepted, Grant Attwood and Ameen Khan were told what was required to pass an assessment and join the England team.

The whole event was geared around showing what it takes to become an elite amateur boxer and helps selectors recognise untouched talent.

For the assessment, they must show good knowledge and ability in technical and tactical skills, diet, psychological aspects, strength and conditioning training, physical fitness tests and analysing their own records and development among other attributes.

The eight-hour session was enjoyed by the duo with both agreeing that, when assessed in the near future, the experience will help them realise their ambition to box for England.
