WORCESTER Warriors director of rugby Dean Ryan has dismissed further speculation linking him with an England backroom role.

Ryan was being mooted earlier this week as a candidate for a backroom position with England.

Ryan’s name was also banded around by bookmakers in the autumn as a potential successor to Stuart Lancaster, which he also ruled out.

Ryan is hoping to meet England head coach Eddie Jones as soon as possible along with all the other directors of rugby in the Aviva Premiership.

Ryan said: “I am not linked with England in any capacity which has reached me and I have no interest in it. I am not interested in my life to going down that route.

“I know I keep getting asked the same questions.

“I am enjoying being here (at Worcester) on a specific challenge that I came to help this club with.

“I never came back here to go back into the cycle of coaching and see where I could go.

“I love what I do here.

“I came here to do this challenge and that’s where I want my life and my family to be.

“I don’t want my life or family to be in the England mix or anything else.”

The Warriors chiefs understands that Jones will be meeting all rugby chiefs in the Premiership.

“It makes sense for Eddie just to try to glean information,” said Ryan.

“From what I know about Eddie he’s pretty studious about players around the world already so I can’t imagine there is anybody he will have missed.

“But I am sure they will pick up that net and come out and meet us.

“It just makes sense for him to do it.

“He hasn’t got any coaching to do but he’s got a team to organise and some people to employ and then he can get around to start understanding what’s going on every week.

“I would expect him (Eddie) to see all the directors of rugby as soon as possible.”
