FORMER Worcestershire opener Matt Pardoe is Herefordshire’s new captain.
Pardoe was released by Worcestershire at the end of the 2014 season after making 2,291 runs in 56 first-class matches at an average of 24.63.
Pardoe, 24, lost his place in the Worcestershire side to fellow opener Richard Oliver, who has since departed New Road.
Herefordshire spokesman Ken Sharpe said: “Matthew has taken over from David Exall who has captained the side excellently for three years including helping to instil a magnificent team spirit into the team.”
