WORCESTER Warriors are expecting a crowd of more than 9,000 for Saturday’s Aviva Premiership clash against third-placed Leicester Tigers at Sixways (3pm).

Worcester will hope to bounce back from last Saturday’s 48-18 humbling against reigning champions Saracens at Twickenham.

Prop Nick Schonert will miss the Leicester match after having 40 stitches in a horrific facial injury when caught by a Saracens boot in the second half.

Ryan praised the work of Bill Treadwell, a dentist with the RFU, who stitched up Schonert’s wound.

He expects the prop to miss just one Premiership match.

“Nick will be very grateful in five to 10 years’ time with the person who stitched him up,” said Ryan.

“It was a pretty serious cut but he is back bouncing around ready to go. It’s probably only this weekend that’s an issue for us.

“It was pretty horrific but the right people were on the job and Nick is pretty positive about his recovery.”

Ryan dismissed any suggestion of foul play having caused Schonert’s injury.

He said: “From what we could see it was just a collapsed ruck and people walked back over the top.

“It was not nice because of the outcome but there’s nothing more to it.”
