RYAN Pitcock put in an outstanding performance at the Warwick Senior Open.

The member of Samurai Judo Club, Kidderminster, claimed gold in both his own category and the open weight, despite being only 66 kg.

Samurai had a good day at the competition, starting when Pitcock cruised home to gold in the under 66kg black belts category.

Rob Alloway added a bronze in the same weight group to the Samurai haul.

Paul Clarke collected silver in the under 90kg black belts, even though he was only 73kg, with four good wins.

In the senior women's event, 14-year-old Sarah Biles won all four of her contests convincingly to take the gold medal.

There were two open categories with Biles entering the women's open and again cruising to the gold.

All three Samurai men got stuck into their open and, after five wins each, they were three of the four semi-finalists.

Clarke edged past Alloway in the one semi-final, while Pitcock spectacularly thrashed a second-level black belt.

Alloway came back to win the bronze, while Pitcock opened the scoring in the final with a superb foot sweep just seconds into the contest.

Clarke came back strongly and took the lead with a higher score from a shoulder throw.

But after 12 contests he was tired and Pitcock, looking fresh and full of running, came back with another strong attack and a maximum-point throw, giving him the gold.

Their two golds each took Pitcock and Biles to the top of the Worcestershire medals table for 2007 so far.

Biles is marginally ahead with eight medals to Pitcock's seven.
