AUSTRALIAN paceman Doug Bollinger is in contention to play for Worcestershire against Derbyshire in the Friends Provident Trophy at New Road on Sunday.
The left-armer, who has not played for the County since the FPT clash with Leicestershire on April 29, has been named in Steve Rhodes' 12-man squad to face the Phantoms.
However, the Aussie seamer may be withdrawn from the side depending on the results of a fitness test on the morning of the game.
Bollinger's possible return to fitness will come as a big boost for director of cricket Rhodes who has seen his side struggle to bowl out their opponents so far this season.
The County's attack has appeared toothless at times with Bollinger and fellow seamer Matt Mason sidelined.
As well as Bollinger being injured since the end of last month, Mason hasn't bowled a ball in anger this year.
The 33-year-old Mason is close to a playing return following shoulder surgery and Worcestershire's prospects will no doubt start to look up with the return to action of two key bowlers.
