PROLIFIC Adam Westmacott has made a big impact for Badsey so far this season - hitting back-to-back centuries in their opening two games.
However, his all-round efforts in the Vale side's winning draw at home to Cleobury have scooped him our Cricketer of the Week award and a £30 voucher to spend at the Fearnley Factory Shop in Worcester.
Badsey batted first in the Worcestershire County League Division Five clash and Westmacott, who opened the batting, was expecting a tough time in the middle.
"The pitch was quite wet when we batted and the ball was keeping really low, so I thought it was going to be difficult to bat on," the 17-year-old said. "Batting was quite scary early on, but I went on to get my sixth hundred for Badsey. It was definitely the toughest one so far."
Westmacott, who made 105 against Vine on the first weekend of the season, scored 109, which was his highest league score for the club.
It was not his best score ever, though, as the youngster hit a massive 193 against Ashton-under-Hill in a friendly last season.
To go with his league-best knock, Westmacott came on as first change bowler in Cleobury's reply and claimed 4-27 from eight overs - his best reurn with the ball for the club.
At their Ballard's Park ground, Badsey had posted 225-5 from their overs and, thanks mainly to Westmacott, Cleobury were restricted to 180-9 and had to settle for a losing draw.
The seam bowler added: "When they came out to bat it was quite sunny and the pitch had dried out a fair bit, so we were expecting them to chase down our score.
"However, they started slowly and had only reached 38 from 15 overs when I came on to bowl.
"I managed to pick up four wickets for 27 runs, which was my best bowling performance for Badsey.
"So to get my best league score and my best bowling figures in the same game was pretty special for me."
Westmacott now has his sights set on continuing his good form and helping Badsey to promotion from Division Five this season.
