TWO players who appeared in the FA Trophy final for Kidderminster Harriers have been released by the club.
Manager Mark Yates has wielded the axe just four days after the Aggborough club's Wembley heartbreak.
Andy White, who replaced Iyseden Christie 15 minutes from the end of Saturday's match, and fellow striker Luke Reynolds, a 90th-minute replacement for Brian Smikle, have not been offered deals for next season.
They leave the club along with forward Scott Eaton, utility man Jake Sedgemore andnon-contract front-man Gary Hay.
Boss Yates said: "It's the hardest part of my job but it's something that has to be done.
"It's not nice but the lads who have left us deserve a lot of thanks for their efforts, attitude and professionalism. I'm sure they won't have trouble finding clubs and I wish them all the best for their futures."
Yates is also hopeful of securing the signatures of several squad members to join skipper Stuart Whitehead, Mark Creighton, Russell Penn, James Constable and Iyseden Christie on contracts for next season.
He said: "A couple of the lads have already signed contracts over the last few weeks but we've kept that to ourselves.
"We didn't want to be in a position where we were at Wembley and some players had signed and a few lads who weren't going to be kept on to know their fate. We wanted a united front.
"But now the time has come to sort these things out. We've got the nucleus of a very good side here and we know we need to build on it.
"It's my job to make sure it's stronger and even more competitive for next season."
White signed permanently for Harriers last summer after two separate loan spells with the club but only scored twice in the Conference and was loaned to Stafford Rangers.
Fellow forward Reynolds netted seven times after joining the club in March 2006, while midfielder Sedgemore leaves after 34 starts.
Teenager Eaton came through the youth ranks at Aggborough but was loaned to Stourport Swifts and Bromsgrove Rovers.
Hay joined Harriers in February while still remaining on the books at Southern League side Bromsgrove.
