STOURPORT Swifts have been handed a relegation reprieve.
The Walshes Meadow club finished bottom of Southern League Division One Midlands and looked set to be relegated to the Midland Alliance.
But, following a complicated league restructuring, Swifts will continue at the same level with manager Phil Mullen in charge.
Only last month it looked as though the new set-up, which has seen a Division One North added to the Unibond League at Step Four, would not save Swifts.
However, due to teams such as Spalding United moving between divisions to create two leagues of 18 in the Unibond and Solihull Borough's merger with Moor Green, survival has been confirmed.
Swfits chairman Chris Reynolds had always hoped his club would be spared relegation and he wants to make sure the same situation doesn't arise next season.
He said: "We are delighted to be staying up."
