STOURPORT boy Christian D'Angelo had a successful weekend at a badminton tournament in Worcester.
D'Angelo, 12, a pupil at Hagley Roman Catholic High School, was runner-up in the boys' singles event at a competition organised by the Worcestershire Schools Badminton Association.
He was narrowly beaten by Mikey East, of Moseley in an exciting three-set final, losing 15-13 at the death. Tournament organiser Vicky Bowater said: "The tournament was a great success and Christian played really well, especially as he was two years younger than his opponent."
