BROMYARD 17-year-old Robert Hall clocked the fastest lap in the Castle Combe Formula Ford 1600 Championship second round.
Hall did battle once again with the vastly experienced Ed Moor and Steven Jensen.
In his Works Husqvarna Swift, the teenager was fast on his debut at Easter until a suspension failure sent him crashing into a wall at more than 100mph.
The team worked non-stop on the badly damaged car when then made it through a wet qualifying session. Hall finished seventh out of 39 due to the wrong tyre choice.
But he swept up to third in the race, setting the fastest lap time of the day. He was just one-tenth of a second behind second-placed Jensen.
The next round is at Castle Combe on May 28.
