WORCESTER Dominies and Guild went in search of their first Sunday victory at Tewkesbury.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bat first with Alcoat (55) and Brixey (41) setting a brisk pace at the start of the innings.

Jamie Lewis (1-38) bowled impressively with a disciplined line and length.

When Tim Lewis (2-31) took the first wicket, Dominies began to peg back Tewkesbury.

Chris Miles (2-44) and Matt Gammon (1-37) helped lower the run-rate but late hitting from Hale (25) and Alcoat (29 not out) took Tewkesbury to a competitive 222-7 off 40 overs.

Dominies began their reply at a steady pace and debutant C Jones made an excellent 83 before succumbing to Alcoat's wiley spin (3-42).

Jim Wilkes (70) supported Jones well in a 95-run partnership which set up an exciting finish.

Miles (22) helped Dominies edge towards victory before slipping and being run out.

Needing seven off the last over, vice-captain Tim Lewis (5) was bowled off the penultimate delivery, leaving skipper Gammon with the improbable task of scoring three off the last ball.

But Dominies completed an incredible win after three loose throws gifted them the runs needed.
