CHAIRMAN Barry Norgrove says he would happily swap Kidderminster Harriers' date with destiny for a place in the Football League.

Harriers will contest their fourth FA Trophy final in 20 years on Saturday when they take on Stevenage Borough at the new Wembley.

But, although thrilled by the prospect of being part of the first showpiece event at the new national stadium, Norgrove insists promotion from the Conference remains the club's top priority.

Harriers, relegated from League Two in 2005 after five years in the professional ranks, missed out on the play-off zone by 15 points this season.

The chairman said: "Our aim is to get into League Two and that is what we are aiming to do next season.

"Would I swap this cup final for the league? I would say yes, because it's financially much better for us with matches against Hereford and Shrewsbury."

Harriers have sold more than 20,000 tickets for Saturday's match, as have opponents Stevenage, and Norgrove is hoping it will be a boost for the Wyre Forest area.

He said: "I think it's good for the town. They haven't had a very good time lately with the carpet industry and I think this will put us back on the map a little bit.

"Everybody wants to go and see the stadium and it's just come at the right time for us.

"It's a pity we can't get this sort of gate for our home games!"

Victory would pocket the Aggborough club a tidy £50,000 in addition to merchandise and gate receipts.
