PERSHORE fell to a three-wicket defeat in their Crusader Worcestershire League Division One clash at Eastnor.
After winning the toss, home skipper Joe Sandford asked Pershore to bat on a wicket that gave variable bounce and his decision was justified when Chris Ridings was dismissed early.
David White and Gary Stevenson (38) laid the foundations with a second-wicket stand of 65 but White was eventually dismissed for 49.
Despite a 28 from Guy Muspratt, the Pershore innings closed on a disappointing 192.
Eastnor made a positive response with an opening stand of 70 and, although the introduction into the attack of Martin Johnson and two excellent runs-outs put a different complexion on the game, it was not enough to prevent an Eastnor win.
Dave Jessop produced a fine six-wicket haul as Pershore Seconds had to settle for a draw against Barnards Green.
They were steered to within a run of victory thanks largely to Joe Taylor's 71. Earlier, Jessop had produced figures of 6-76 as Barnards Green were bowled out for 168.
