BROMYARD driver Robert Hall made an impressive start to his new Formula Ford career, putting his car on the front row and running a very close second in Alan Cooper's Swift SC92 until a mechanical failure caused retirement on lap five.
Hall, who ran a limited programme with the Swift SC06 in the UK Formula Ford Championship during 2006, has moved over to compete in the Castle Combe Formula Ford Championship for 2007.
He looks likely to challenge for outright wins throughout the 2007 season.
Husqvarna, the world-leading manufacturer of outdoor garden products, have once again re-entered motorsport by supporting 17-year-old Hall.
Hall's manager Chris Smith said: "We plan to use this season to build the foundations for a serious attempt at the UK Championship in 2008 and beyond."
