THE Worcester News has teamed up with leading cricket equipment suppliers - Fearnley Factory Shop - to reward club cricketers throughout the county for their batting or bowling performances on a weekly basis.
Alongside the regular Cricketer of the Week award, there will also be a Team of the Week prize to ensure that not only excellent individual performances, but also top team efforts, get the recognition they deserve.
Each week, the batsman or bowler deemed to have put in the best solo performance will be rewarded with a £30 voucher to spend in the Fearnley Factory Shop in Sherriff Street, Worcester.
In addition to this, the team adjudged to have secured the best result of the weekend in will receive a box of six quality Fearnley cricket balls, worth £90.
The winners will be selected from the match results that appear in the Worcester News each week.
Only clubs that are located in the newspaper's circulation area will qualify and no overseas or professional players will be eligible to scoop the Cricketer of the Week award. The sports editor's decision will be final.
The competition gets under way this weekend and the winners will be revealed in the Worcester News every Thursday. Don't miss out by ensuring your club's results are included each week.
