A NUMBER of players will be sweating on their Sixways futures as the Mike Ruddock revolution swings into action.
The new Sixways supremo plans to review both the playing and coaching personnel at the club after replacing John Brain.
"I am hoping we create a strong team that works hard and pushes the club forward," he said. "I am looking forward to working with (backs coach) Billy McGinty.
"I need to get my feet under the table and do an audit of what we have and what we haven't got in all areas and it is the same on the playing front.
"It would be nice to get some new signings of quality players."
It appears McGinty's job is safe but it is thought Ruddock will bring in his own head coach, with Doncaster chief Clive Griffiths the hot favourite for that role.
Brain prioritised the retention of key players towards the end of his tenure but chairman Cecil Duckworth is keen to draw a line under the old regime. Even those players who have recently signed new contracts may not be spared the axe.
Duckworth first contacted Ruddock when Brain offered his resignation in November and was lined up as part of a "contingency plan."
While Brain was busy keeping his side in the Premiership, he was blissfully unaware of manoeuverings in the board room.
"We didn't want to paper over some of the things that had gone wrong over the last 18 months and, quite seriously, we felt it was time for a change," said Duckworth.
