PAUL Jones was the hero as holders Bretforton Old Boys staged a tremendous comeback to defeat league champions Ambassador 4-2 and lift the Evesham Sunday League Knock-out Cup at Pershore.
Ambassador started well and took an early lead through Tompkins. On the half-hour Des Cox increased the lead and Ambassador continued to dominate and were left to rue several missed chances.
The second-half saw a different Old Boys, Karl Scott reducing arrears with a fine strike then the same player crossed perfectly for Jamie Clarke to head home.
The game went into extra-time and two goals from Jones in the first 10 minutes of added time settled the tie.
Upton Snodsbury can still finish runners-up in Division One following a comfortable 4-1 win at Red Horse. Upton scored through Wood, Rogers, Lawson and McLean.
Evesham WMC shared six goals with the Bear and finish in the bottom two.
Division Two champions Moreton Town finished their league campaign with 4-2 victory over Badsey Rec, Chris Mills netting a treble.
Oddfellows Arms won 4-0 at relegated Defford/Besford Utd with goals from Sears (2), Rutter and Redding.
Crowle need a point to clinch the Division Three title following a 12-0 win over Queens. Williams and McDonald both scored hat-tricks.
Pinvin won 2-0 at Norgren with goals from Cooke and Rowberry, while promoted Tesco shared eight goals with Pebworth in Division Four.
Cidermill set up a final this Sunday with Evesham WMC in the Evesham Mechanical Services Subsidiary Cup with a penalty shoot-out win over Bluck Cup winners Honeybourne Gate Inn after the teams shared four goals.
Bullock and Cox scored for the Mill with Stone and Hall replying for the Gate.
