MALVERN completed their Southern League Division One Midlands season with a 3-2 reversal at Sutton Coldfield Town.
Malvern started brightly and, in the first couple of minutes, Daniel Harding-Hall lashed a long-range shot over the bar.
They took the lead in the eighth minute when the same player slotted the ball under 'keeper Christopher Gemmill.
After 20 minutes, play was delayed for five minutes when one of the nets became de-tached from the goal.
On resumption, Sutton's Justin Rowe picked up the goal-kick and weaved his way through three players before firing the ball past Mark Wright's left hand for the equaliser.
From the kick-off, the ball was played up the left and crossed to Harding-Hall, whose shot was pushed around the post by Gemmill.
In the 35th minute, Craig Owen's free kick from 22 yards out was turned around the post and the corner was cleared off the line by Aaron Drake.
Malvern started the second-half as brightly as the first and Oliver Reid crossed from the left for Ed Lyons. He fed Jamie Hyde, whose shot from the left hand edge of the box curled past the 'keeper into the corner of the net.
In the final half-hour, the referee showed Sutton three yellows and one red card, while Malvern also found themselves down to 10 men after a sending-off.
In the 65th minute, after good work down the right by Rowe, Dean Curtis fired home.
Reid's shot in the 72nd minute was saved by Gemmill but, three minutes later, Rik Halion was shown his second yellow card and dismissed for dissent.
The extra man spurred on Sutton but it was Malvern who made the chance when Lyons headed into the 'keeper's arms.
The ball was played upfield and crossed into Malvern's penalty area and it was centred for Nathan Moran to slot home from three yards after 88 minutes.
From the re-start, the ball was played into Malvern's box and the referee awarded a goal kick and sent Moran off for violent conduct.
There was no time for any more goals and Malvern had to settle for defeat which means they finish in 17th place in their first season in the newly created league.
