COLIN LLOYD produced the first whitewash in the history of the Holsten Premier League Darts with an 8-0 win over Ledbury's Terry Jenkins as the tournament visited London's Alexandra Palace.
Lloyd went into the game knowing he could not reach the tournament's play-offs with only two league nights remaining, but gave his most clinical and impressive display yet this year to see off the Premier League's surprise package.
Jenkins, already assured of a top-four spot, was given few chances by Lloyd, who averaged almost 97 to claim the first 8-0 win in the three-year history of the event.
"It's a great result because Terry has been absolutely fantastic throughout the Premier League," said Lloyd. "I'm only playing for pride now but this fills me full of confidence."
Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld made their Alexandra Palace debuts with victories at the new home of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.
Defending world champion van Barneveld came from behind to defeat fellow Dutchman Roland Scholten 8-5, while 13-time winner Taylor saw off former practice partner Adrian Lewis Scholten's defeat confirmed Dennis Priestley's place in the top four, despite the Yorkshireman's 8-3 loss to an on-song Peter Manley.
