ONE of the largest travelling supports of Worcester City's season is getting ready to descend on Harrogate on Saturday - dressed as French maids and hot dogs.

Around 150 fans are expected at Wetherby Road for the crucial last match of the season, which could see City reach the Nationwide North play-offs after weeks of uncertainty.

Worcester need a victory and Farsley have to lose at Redditch, while Hyde and Blyth must fail to win.

Andy Preece's side will be cheered all the way by an army of supporters, some clad in fancy dress.

Keith Chambers, vice chairman of Worcester City Supporters Club, said a 50-seater coach, the biggest this season, is making the journey to North Yorkshire, while fans are also travelling under their own steam.

Chambers said: "I think people like to go for the last game and I know a lot of fans on our coach are dressing up. It's a bit of a tradition.

"I don't think we did it at Worksop last season but the year before a lot of people went in Hawaiian shirts.

"This year we have got a French maid, a Bo Peep and a Hot Dog. We are also taking Georgie Dragon."

He added: "It will probably be one of the best-supported games. This time it's got a bit more to it and a lot of people still believe it (the play-offs) might happen."

City boss Andy Preece will give a late fitness test to midfielder Shaun Findlay, while Gary Walker has been recalled from his loan spell at Malvern Town.
