SPENCER Lowe and Iain MacDonald were among the county drivers who impressed at Grimley Raceway's second meeting of the season.
Lowe, of Worcester Towbar Centre, won the super stock rods final, while Evesham's MacDonald claimed the honours in the two-litre rod competition.
Around 800 people flocked to the event with highlights being a ramp roll-over exhibition from two drivers and 18 cars doing battle in the popular Grimley Maniacs section.
Drivers came from as far afield as Suffolk and the tarmac oval hosted its first ever national super rods round with two more planned for this year.
The raceway's promoter, Alan Lewis, said: "It was an absolutely brilliant day and there was a good turn-out of visiting drivers.
"We weren't quite as busy as Easter Monday when there were a couple of thousand people there."
The next meeting at the venue will be on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7, with racing starting from 1pm.
