THANKS to the cricket foundation's Chance to Shine programme, budding cricketers at Chantry High School in Martley have benefited from a new artifical cricket strip being installed for them to practice and play matches on.
Another worthwhile benefit of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) initiative is that the youngsters will also receive coaching from Phil Tongue.
Tongue is delivering the programme through Ombersley Cricket Club, which is the focus club for the area. The purpose of the programme is to regenerate competitive cricket for boys and girls in primary and secondary schools throughout England and Wales as well as raising the profile of the game.
