WESTFIELDS completed their home fixtures for the season with a 3-1 win over Oadby Town in the Midland Alliance.

They were led to their impressive victory by ace striker Mark Davis who grabbed two superb goals to take his tally to 21 for the season.

The Hereford side gained full revenge for the 5-1 drubbing they had at Oadby in December.

Davis, a constant thorn in the Oadby defence, put Westfields ahead in the 33rd minute, sweeping home Kevin Jinks' fine left-wing cross from 10 yards.

After the break, the hosts got off to a dream start when ex-Malvern Town winger Nick Butler outpaced two defenders before coolly slotting home a great finish.

Oadby pulled a goal back in the 55th minute when Andy May beat Rory Hollingshead with a fierce drive.

The visitors came more into the game but Westfields' defence looked strong with Scott Jackson back in the middle.

They increased their lead with the best goal of the game when Davis headed in Daniel Moon's corner.

Meanwhile, after two away fixtures, Archdales '73 returned to home soil with a 0-0 Midland Combination Division One draw with West Midlands Police.

Both teams missed gilt-edged chances. 'Dales dominated the first-half and should have been several goals in front but for poor finishing.

Sam Green missed two one-on-ones and Lee Seldon failed to find the target when it was easier to score. Craig Costford and Luke Whittington were denied by good saves.

In the second-half, Police played better and 'Dales goalkeeper Craig Fletcher made two top saves to deny Steve Matthews.

'Dales are due to host Northfield Town tomorrow night (6.30pm).
