IRILUT - ridden by Sam Waley-Cohen - was the winner of a dramatic race for the Lady Dudley Cup at the Worcestershire Hunt point-to-point meeting at Chadd-esley Corbett.
The meeting also saw the demise of the two leading betting market leaders on the final circuit.
Second favourite Ballylusky, ridden by champion Richard Burton, set a fast pace in the disappointing six-runner turn-out and was stilltwo lengths up on the field when he attempted to duck out approaching the 15th fence and unseated Burton - leaving the favourite Patches in the lead but stalked all the time by Irilut.
Waley-Cohen's runner had gone clear at the second-last fence and, when Patches broke down at the final fence, Irilut was 30 lengths clear of the eventual runner-up Sharlom.
Waley-Cohen, who had a great ride in the Grand National ab-oard Liberthine, was delighted with the family winner.
He said: "That's the fifth time he has won this season but he really needs firm to show his best."
That win in the prestigious pointing classic gave Waley-Cohen a double on the day as he had earlier taken the Confined Hunts race on Something Small, who had just mastered the rejuvenated Snowtre ridden by Claire Allen - only for that one to refuse at the last, leaving the winner 20 lengths in isolation from the second My Native Knight.
Allen had compensation 35 minutes later when she partnered Watchyourback to win the Ladies Open, scoring by two-and-a-half lengths from runner-up Father Tom.
The first division of the Maiden race saw a win for Cregboy Lad, owned by the Netherton Partnership, which includes Liz Morgans - secretary of the South Herefordshire Hunt - when the ex-Irish runner responded well to jockey Stuart Morris to record a neck win over Zaffre d'Or and Adrian Wintle.
The final Maiden race on the card went to Mr Cee, from the Pembridge livery yard of Car-oline Walker, who quickened clear from the second last fence in the hands of Nick Oliver to record a three-and-a-half length win for North Herefordshire owners Nigel Lilley, Bruce Dowling, Lorraine Power and the trainer.
