CARL Heeley and Nathan Lamey both scored as a Bromsgrove Rovers XI beat a Worcester City XI 2-0 at Paul Carty's testimonial.
Former City star Heeley and Lamey, who both now play for Rovers, were among players past and present at last night's match, watched by 321 people, at St George's Lane to raise money for Carty.
The 40-year-old has played for both clubs but suffered a broken leg and ankle playing for Bromsgrove in December, which has effectively ended his career.
City first-team players Danny McDonnell, Adam Webster and Tom Warmer featured, while Kidderminster Harriers boss Mark Yates and current Rovers manager Rod Brown turned out for Rovers.
Some players even travelled from Southampton and Cardiff to be involved.
City chairman Dave Boddy said: "It was a great night. First and foremost it was to honour Paul Carty and he thoroughly enjoyed it and was quite overwhelmed by it all."
Money raised through gate receipts and a raffle will be added to collections by Nuneaton Borough and Hednesford Town, two of Carty's former clubs, before a final total is announced.
