WORCESTER'S Greg King, Miles Benjamin and Matt Cox started as England Under 19s lost 34-13 to New Zealand.
The defeat ended their chances of claiming a first IRB Under 19 World Championship crown despite a dogged defensive display in Belfast.
England are now playing for fifth place.
They take on Argentina again tomorrow night with the winners playing France or Ireland on Saturday.
Warriors' Oliver Frost and Graham Kitchener helped England Under 18s beat Ireland 23-12 in Glasgow.
