KIDDERMINSTER Harriers boss Mark Yates is now targeting sixth place in the Nationwide Conference after missing out on the play-offs.

Harriers have four more league games and hope to build on Saturday's 1-0 win at Rushden and Diamonds in tomorrow night's home match with Aldershot Town (7.45).

Yates wants his players' focus on finishing the Conference campaign in a positive fashion rather than thinking too far ahead to the FA Trophy final on May 12.

He said: "If we aren't going to finish in the top five then I want to finish sixth or as close to that as we can get.

"We always want to keep going forward and want to finish the season well. Now we've got four big league games to go until a big day at the Trophy final. I want four more games where we perform."

Yates admitted Harriers' Aggborough form is a worry with 10 league defeats at home this season contrasting sharply to 10 victories on their travels.

They have failed to score in the last three games in Kidderminster, picking up just one point from a draw with Burton Albion.

Yates added: "Whatever it takes to turn our home form around is up to myself and the coaching staff. We have the ability, the commitment and passion. We simply need more consistency."

Eight-goal midfielder Russ Penn, the match-winner at rivals Rushden, starts a three-match ban tomorrow night for collecting 15 yellow cards.

Wingers Michael Blackwood and Simon Russell could earn recalls along with right-back Glenn Wilson, allowing Jake Sedgemore to replace Penn.

Aldershot, who have gone five away games without a win after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Halifax Town, can also no longer make the play-offs.

They beat Harriers 4-2 at the Recreation Ground in October with ex-Watford striker Marcus Gayle scoring a hat-trick.

Former Hereford striker John Grant is top scorer with 20 goals, while ex-Hull winger Ryan Williams provides a threat from the right.

Meanwhile, Hereford United face West Midlands League side Ledbury Town tomorrow night in the Herefordshire Senior Floodlit Cup final at Edgar Street (7.45).
