LUCTONIANS ensured they will stay in Midlands One after a 27-8 home win over champions Luton.

Lucs turned in their most committed 80 minutes of the season at a time when it mattered most.

Bruce Ruthven scored his 16th league try of the campaign after good work from Mark Panniers. Brett Prior converted and added a penalty.

Andy Garrod and Paul Hulland (two) completed the scoring with tries.

Prior converted one for Lucs who host Camp Hill in the North Midlands Cup quarter-finals on Saturday (3pm).
