AXED Malvern Town goalkeeper Craig Humphries has hit out at his former manager Paul Molloy, who released him from the club after missing two games.
Humphries claimed he was stuck in traffic and couldn't make the Southern League Division One Midlands clash with Willenhall Town on Saturday, April 7, forcing Molloy to play striker Danny Harding-Hall in goal.
But Humphries has since admitted that he didn't attend the game for personal reasons.
Then, at a dinner at Worces-tershire County Cricket Club on the same evening, Hump-hries claims he was told by the Malvern boss that he would never play for the team again.
Therefore, Humphries didn't turn up for Easter Monday's trip to Cinderford - further angering Molloy, who had to pick reserve teamer Mark Wright.
However, Humphries said there was no point turning up following his conversation with Molloy on the Saturday.
The stopper added: "I'm a local lad and I loved playing for Malvern Town - I felt it was an honour to play for them.
"If people want to blame me for the bad results, then that's fair enough, but I feel that I have been made a scapegoat - some of the things that have been said are completely incorrect.
"I admit that I wasn't stuck in traffic when I missed the Willenhall game on Saturday, but I did not turn up for personal reasons.
"I was told by the manager at the dinner at Worcestershire's cricket ground on Saturday night that I had been sacked and wouldn't play for Malvern again.
"I am very disappointed by Paul Molloy's comments. I have spoken to the players and they are 100 per cent behind me.
"It is water under the bridge now and I am just looking forward to getting on with my career with another club."
