MALVERN Town produced the worst away display of their Southern League Division One Midlands season at Rothwell Town on Saturday.
Malvern's goalkeeper Dean Smith made the first save of the game in the 15th minute when he pushed a shot from Danny Nicholls over the bar and from the resulting corner the ball was headed just wide.
Aaron Drake made Malvern's first attempt on goal when he shot from 25 yards out but the effort was fielded safely by keeper Tom Smith.
Michael Tolton hit the post from the left hand side for Rothwell and three minutes later, following a free-kick, Michael Cole's shot for Malvern was pushed onto the post by the home keeper.
In the 25th minute, Rothwell took the lead from the penalty spot when Darren Lynch fired home via the upright.
Rothwell started to play with confidence and Nick Clayton cleared off his line in the 35th minute before Dean Smith was called upon to save low down just before the break.
Malvern's only real chance in the second-half came in the 55th minute when Drake crossed to Jamie Hyde on the edge of the box, but his shot sailed over the crossbar.
In the 65th minute Ricky Miller shook off his marker, rounded the keeper and slotted the ball home for Rothwell's second.
Following poor marking from corner kicks, Jon Darby headed in after 73 minutes and Michael Boyle-Chong scored the fourth after 80th minutes.
