THE Andy Taylor Autoparts/Brookhire team are trying their luck in the Cotswold Motorsport Group Rally Championship after attempting the West Midlands event in recent years.
Driver Taylor is looking forward to the new challenge and may consider the odd event in the Heart of England Championship.
This will depend on how the team is performing in the Cotswold championship and work commitments.
Taylor and fellow Sixty and Worcestershire Motor Club member Kevin Bowcott will use the former's faithful Ford Escort with an unusual Vauxhall 1.6 twin-cam engine.
The season got off to a solid start with a good result for the pair on the Caewent Stages which is held on a military complex, near Newport in Wales, which is a difficult venue to drive on.
The complex consists of a mass of tight, twisty, kerb-lined roads which lie in wait to the over-enthusiastic driver.
However, Taylor & co-driver Bowcott avoided the perils of the kerbs and finished a creditable 22nd overall and fourth in class.
