ANDY Awford has ruled himself out of the running to become assistant manager at Worcester City.
The position is vacant at St George's Lane following the resignation of Andy Morrison this week.
Awford, who began his career with City, is currently between posts after being deemed surplus to requirements at Conference club Oxford United.
He was assistant to boss Jim Smith at the Kassam Stadium but decided to lea-ve after youth team coach Darren Patterson was appointed in his place as first team coach during a club restructure.
But the 34-year-old, who spent 15 years with Portsmouth and still lives in Hampshire, said: "Nobody has said anything to me but it's not something I would be looking to do.
"If I am going to stay in football it would need to be closer to the south coast because of the travelling."
Meanwhile, George Clegg remains a doubt for Saturday's home match with Worksop. Clegg suffered a dead leg during the 1-1 draw with Gainsborough.
Meanwhile, the Football Conference has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with online betting firm Blue Square.
From next season, the divisions will be the Blue Square Premier, Blue Square Northern and Blue Square Southern.
City are also set to benefit from Setanta's five-year television deal.
The Irish broadcaster will show 79 Blue Square Premier games per season on Thursday nights as well as the play-offs from all three leagues.
